    Are you sure about the track titles? The file contains 2 tracks named “Born In A Hurricane”.

  3. January 18th, 2012 at 03:00 | #3

    @Marcel2
    Yes, there is a mistake. The second track named “Born In A Hurricane” is actually called “Release the clowns”.

    I fail to understand how does this fall under the genre “post-rock”

    @Hammad
    Don’t think about it.

    I have found you get a lot of not post rock uploads on this site. There really should be some sort of quality control. Sometimes the lines are blurred and it can be hard to tell but others there is not a bit of doubt as to an album not being post rock.

    Come on Guys!
    Who cares about Genres?
    Crippled Black Phoenix make just unbelievable great music. This is the only matter.

    And where is this song: “The Brain / Poznan” ? And what is this: “(In The Yonder Marsh)”? :)

    @mower
    It’s mistake in the track list. Fixed.

    @Shachty

    Well the site IS for exchanging postrock. I wouldn’t care as long as it was labeled as such but it often isn’t. The amount of times I have download an album thinking it would be postrock and it turns out to be ever so slightly progressive metal is insane.

  11. January 24th, 2012 at 12:57 | #11

    @Liam
    You said a lot of useless words instead of saying “thanks”. I am sure that you wouldn’t visit this site if it wasn’t good for you.

    THIS ALBUM IS JUST BRILLIANT … LIKE THE PAST ONE: I VIGILANTE!

    @Scarecrow

    Finally a comment about the music instead of whining about what genre it belongs to.

    @serzot

    Hmm… thanks for the correct, but I still think that something is wrong. For example the track “The Brain / Poznan” is gone. Look: http://mascotlabelgroup.com/mlg/releases/mankind-the-crafty-ape/

    I just want to say that music posted is not even post-rock, but it’s ok, it’s always good music!

    Serzot, we love you! Carry on!

    Greetings from Italy,

    I just want to say that I think this conversation is both annoying and important. I appreciate Serzot and all he does for this wonderful site (thank you!), but I do agree with some posters here that this site serves a niche group of postrock music listeners and at times it can be maddening downloading random albums on here looking for postrock only to find that about 20% of the time the music you get is outside of the definition of postrock. Of course this isn’t our site, and the owner/operator can do whatever he chooses with it, but if it were me I would try to sub-classify some of the music i put on here as it gets posted to help those of us who don’t know what it is we’re downloading. the only thing i have to go on are people’s comments, so i find i only end up downloadng music that has comments now, and that sucks, especially when it would be so easy to make it clear from the beginning exactly what it is - post metal, post doom metal, ambient, noisecore, etc. when i think of postrock i think of the bands listed in the cloud on the right side of the screen. anything that strays from that general collection is testing the boundary of postrock. again, not a bad thing, but the site is called postrockexchange.

    @Joseph Reilly

    Pretty much this.

    While the album is great and I really enjoyed it, it is not Postrock and really shouldn’t be labeled as such. Upload it sure, I’m thankful for having found them but if they are clearly not Postrock then just label them the correct genre instead :)

    @general discussion going on:
    I don’t know the band Crippled Black Phoenix and haven’t (knowingly) listened to it. I don’t know what genre it should be of. But I’ve read the name quite often in association with the post-rock genre. Therefore why not just post it here and give the people what they want. ;)
    @Joseph Reilly
    “when i think of postrock i think of the bands listed in the cloud on the right side of the screen.” Listed first: 65dos. Wouldn’t consider them post-rock anymore, but meh, they’re great anyway :D

    I think the album is so good, I bought myself a real copy instead of a cdr. The exact tracklist is:
    Chapter I (A Thread): 01 Nothing (We Are) 1:25 / 02 The Heart Of Every Country 10:04 / 03 Get Down And live With It 7:11 / 04 (In The Yonder Marsh) 4:11 / 05 A Letter Concerning Dogheads 6:24 / 06 The Brain / Poznan 7:37
    Chapter II (The Trap): 07 Laying Traps 4:45 / 08 Born In A Hurricane 3:31 / 09 Release The Clowns 5:23 / 10 (What?) 1:36
    Chapter III (The Blues Of Man): 11 A Suggestion (Not A Very Nice One) 5:54 / 12 (Dig, Bury, Deny) 2:09 / 13 Operation Mincemeat 6:58 / 14 We Will Never Get Out This World Alive 4:13 / 15 Faced With Complete Failure, Utter Defiance Is The Only Response 14:50

    “The Brain/Poznan” seems to be missing

    Have to agree with the discussion. Hardly download any more unless it’s a band I recognize. Even if you were to just list a couple bands each band sounds like, it’d help immensely.

    well for most of you guys postrockxchange.com explains it all. I am not whining about the genre. Its just that when i open this website my expectations are to get something which is postrock. I personally grew up listening to EITS, MONO, godspeed, caspian, god is an astronaut, yndi halda. Personally i am open to all genres. But if i would be looking for random good sounding music i would rather go to a website which is called goodrandommusic.com, my point here is that you cannot mislead the genre too which is happening in this case, because twisting the real basis of a genre leads towards a total misleading perceptions about what post-rock actually started off as and what it will be considered as in the future. I would rather not give it a label of “good random music” thats why no zeppelin is born. Because everyone is trying to be either zeppelin or pink floyd and not trying to be themselves. Genre taking such a big twist is just sad because then you wont be able to find exactly what you are looking for.

    Are you guys for fucking real??

    As Serzot pointed out himself there’s a LOT of big elitist words ’round here and very little ‘thank yous’..
    First of all, you guys are downloading music FOR FREE..for fuck sake. Selected and uploaded for your enjoyment by a third party with that..!?! So..WHO CARES if this is ’strictly’ post-rock or not.
    I mean it’s not like the guy is uploading Justin Bieber here, and considering the close affiliation between Crippled Black Phoenix and Mogwai, it is really not that much of a stretch to upload this on a post rock dedicated site.
    And, tell me, what’s the worst that can happen here? “wasting” 5 minutes downloading some stuff that you might actually like that doesn’t necessarily fit your tiny little niche? OH the Horror!

    Seroiously, what a bunch of sissy ass, entitled, whining little bitches. Wow. Wow. Wow.
    Grow up, check out the definition for ‘gratefulness’ on line and hey, broaden your horizon while you’re at it!
    Peace.
