not even as emotional, compare their live footage. cant even compare. toes music is so much deeper and intracate. te’ thinks theier bad ass. im not saying their a bad band but cmon…comparing toe? haha, arguing is fun.

  12. August 16th, 2010 at 19:35 | #12

te’ is straight rock with that constant beat of drums…
toe is tasteful music, can be listened over and over again

  13. August 16th, 2010 at 22:04 | #13

I think LITE shredds a little bit harder

I’m sorry but the only band that can be compared to toe is “Mouse on the Keys” and “nenem”, you guys should give a listen. té, Lite, sgt., 3nd and other band may be energetic but not as deep and so well composed as toe. I mean, toe uses a whole set of instruments and even electronic sounds, the other japanese bands have the same old rock band set (2 guitars, bass adn drums). FOR LONG TOMORROW is the peak of japanese instrumental music, period!

Oh, and they’re mathematical as hell! Their tempo is other-worldly and the drummer, Takashi, has some serious rhythm and percussion knowledge and technique!

good incite denis. toe is the peak of japanese instramental, although i liked their older stuff better like ’songs ideas we forgot’. and everyone should check out the band ‘mudy on the sakuban’. supeer good band. any other suggests from you guys for bands like toe? -sho

Listen to Enemies; they are in the same sphere of music. They are under the label that toe manages. LITE displays their technical prowess, sometimes in excess. I don’t about you but when math rock gets too mathematical its depressing. Though, maybe I have not listened to For Long Tomorrow enough yet, I do prefer their older stuff when it was 2 guitars, bass and drums. I would say that sgt. is more interesting because they like to genre-hop with cool results. But toe is very much easier to listen to.
